Previous post :

Yati Salem of, is a crafter who creates made-to-order jewellery using wire-wrapping techniques & beading. She is excitedly awaiting the arrival of her 'baby' - a book teaching wire jewellery-making techniques & tips.

We at ACG is also very happy for her. She was part of a team of 6 members who conducted workshops over a span of 3 days at Femme City exhibition, KL Convention Centre under the ACG banner. Really appreciated the time & effort she (and many others) put in to do not only her own workshop but also came to help other members conduct theirs. This spirit of 'gotong royong' (helping each other out) is what ACG is all about.

To help bring her book to a wider audience, ACG has just finished discussions with eCo-cent$, who will be sponsoring the launching of her book at their store in Ara Damansara. eCo-cent$ is an importer of overstocked, refashioned & vintage items from Japan. The co-founder is a life member of ACG, specialising in glass texturising & painting. Many years ago, our members made a visit to her factory & learned alot about the methods used .

At the book launch, there will also be sales of Yati's hand-made jewellery and copies of her brand new book. She will also be on hand to give a demonstration on how to make full use of her book, to self-learn the basics of wire jewellery-making. This will be followed by a Book Signing session and Q & A session.

There will also be a mini fashion show with "walkabout" models modelling eCo cents' clothes & Riqzmiecreation's jewellery.

This event is slated for December 2010. More details in later posts.
